You hardly see any progress with the "hotel", but at least you can see that I have started on the porch that will go along the front of the building. A fair amount of work has been done on the inside, but you can't see that from this picture.
Below. to the left is the grandkids area; post office, general store,
reading room, art room, etc...they have free roam in this area.
The office, or "writing room" is almost finished. Just a few more boards and trim and I will be able to "pickle" the ceiling rafters and then put up wains coating then I will be ready to paint the wall. The finished floor will be last, when I put the floor down in the rest of the building. Saying that this is a bigger hill to climb that first thought would be an understatement.
Here are a few more photos of work to be done. The attic will be two sleeping lofts and the upper center floor will be removed at the last and the center, common area will be vaulted to the roof ridge.
Lookin' Good Sir....Ya keep peckin' at it and one day you will run out of something to do?

DeleteI like wainscoting. We put some up in the dining area and the hall of the country house but we have sheetrock walls. You are going to put wainscoting up on those wood plank walls? anyway, you are making fine progress.
ReplyDeletegood morning, Ms. Ellen,,Only in the office. I wanted it to resemble a late 1800's office. the wainscoting will be a beaded wood similar to old post offices, train depots, etc. Thnx for dropping by
